The Division B State Tournament was held on April 25, 2009 at UW-Oshkosh. At this tournament Menomonie Middle School won their first state tournament since 2006 with Marshall Middle School finishing as the state runner-up after winning the state tournament the previous year. Badger Ridge Middle School earned the third place trophy for the second time in school history.
The Division C State Tournament was held at UW-Stout in Menomonie, WI on April 4, 2009. Menomonie High School won their second consecutive state title by defeating Madison West High School. In the process, Menomonie High School scored a team and overall tournament record score of only 46 points, earning top five finishes in all 20 scored events. Boyceville High School finished as the third place team for the first time in school history, rising from a ninth place finish at the previous year's state tournament.
