At the Division B state tournament Morse Middle School reclaimed the state tournament title after a one-year absence and won their fourth overall title. Wilson Middle School finished as the state runner-up for the first time in school history. James Madison Middle School earned the third place trophy for the first time in school history, falling from the state tournament title the previous year.

At the Division C state tournament Madison High School reclaimed the state title after two years of winning runner-up trophies. Washington Park High School earned the state runner-up trophy, breaking their streak of winning the previous two years' state tournaments. Rufus King High School finished as the third place team for the second consecutive year.

Tournament Results

The top two teams in Division B and the top team in Division C qualified for the 1992 National Tournament.
