Tournament Results
Scoring was done in alignment with the national scoring guidelines, which at the time used the old scoring system of highest score wins. The top team in each division qualified for the 1997 National Tournament. New Division B champions El Rancho Charter Middle School made their 1st Nationals appearance, placing 12th overall. Defending 1994 Division C champions Troy High School made their 3rd Nationals appearance, placing 2nd overall.
