Should we add 2012 data?

It would be best to wait until SOinc comes out with the official map such as the one used for each of the previous years' data. Some states may not have reached their deadline for registering teams, either, so numbers may vary between now and, say, May or June. Zyzzyva98 21:29, 2 February 2012 (EST)

Well I'm gonna make a column for the ones that have finished already anyways. Delete if you wish, but we'll just update as comes. I understand this is between both divisions? Knittingfrenzy18 13:49, 10 April 2012 (EST)

Wait do we include the teams that sign up but didn't come? If not, Maryland actually has 38 teams. Knittingfrenzy18 14:00, 10 April 2012 (EST)

Never mind I won't do it. Where are they posting this on the main website? Knittingfrenzy18 14:12, 10 April 2012 (EST)

If I'm not mistaken, the deadline for state directors to submit their numbers to nationals has already passed. This year's numbers are at http://www.scienceolympiad2012.com/tournament-info/team-numbers-and-state-progression-to-nationals/. --Luo 17:41, 10 April 2012 (EST)

Fixed the 2012 data :D Will change up the two teams thing tomorrow or sometime in the near future. Knittingfrenzy18 15:59, 16 April 2012 (EST)

So what happens when the table threatens to get too long? (As would happen if I added the numbers from 2012-2008, 2006, and 2004). Should I just remove the "Teams in" part of each column heading to make it fit better? --Unome (talk) 11:50, 10 July 2015 (CDT)

If it gets wide enough, there will be a horizontal scroll bar so it all can be viewed (example: http://scioly.org/wiki/index.php?title=University_of_Illinois_2010&diff=13870&oldid=11073#C_Division). And yes, the "Teams in" could probably be tossed out. That leaves the question of what to do with the "Growth from 2014 to 2015 (%)" column. If it stays, it should probably be moved to the second to the left (right in between the state column and 2015 column), that way it isn't a bunch of data from 2014 and 2015 right next to the data from 2004. Is it worth adding the asterisk and dagger for each year after the number of teams from that state? --Unome (talk) 15:26, 13 July 2015 (CDT)

Eh, I don't think so. Generally, I never say to myself "Hmmm, I wonder what states sent two teams in Division B to the National Tournament in 2006..." (I mean, do you think that to yourself very often?). John richardsim (talk) 22:43, 13 July 2015 (CDT)
