Pacific Trails Middle School is a 7/8 grade school in the San Dieguito Union High School District of California. They opened in August of 2015 with ~250 7th grade students and competed in their first Science Olympiad in 2016. Only participating in 18 of the 23 events and with new parent coaches, they performed well in their first year. They have qualified for state since 2017. They have consistently failed to qualify for nationals, but have grown into a regional powerhouse, placing above Carmel Valley Middle School the last couple of years.
Students from Pacific Trails generally feed into Canyon Crest Academy or Torrey Pines High School. Canyon Crest Academy is currently the default high school.
