Yankton Middle School is a very successful team located in South Dakota. They have won the state championship every year since it was started in 1985, except in 2021, where they did not compete. Their main challenger is Sacred Heart Middle School, which has earned second place at the state tournament every year since 2000. However, despite their dominance in their state, they have not placed in the top 10 at nationals since 1989, and have not gotten higher than 40th place since 2005.
