Wichita East High School, locally known as "East", is a Division C school which competes in the Wichita Regional of Kansas. The school is the largest (in population) Kansas high school with approximately 2,300+ students. East's mascot is the ace fighter pilot, and the school's colors are blue and white. Wichita East competes in the large school division, always competing in the regional and state championship.
East is known for its IB Program and a large array of AP classes. Most students who compete in Science Olympiad are from the IB or AP program. The school consistently gets either 1st or 2nd place (under Wichita North East) in the "Best Wichita Public School Award". The school often works with Robinson Middle School because of Robinson's Pre-IB Program. East has no rivals with any Wichita schools because the school always wins regionals in the large school division.

2020
Competed in the Wichita regional event, but did not attend the state championship because the state championship was canceled. Overall a disappointing year because we had great players that could have done well at state.
2021
A major win! East got 1st in Astronomy, 2nd in Codebusters, 2nd in Disease Detectives, 1st in Geologic Mapping, 1st in Machines, and 3rd in Ornithology at STATE. Despite social distancing, the team won 6 championship medals. Overall, the school placed in the top ten in Kansas which has never been done before.
2022
The new President and Vice Presidents are preparing by raising funds (since we are a public school) for this season. We will be putting more effort into building events and holding our ground on those study events that our IB students do really well in! Go aces!
