Introduction
Hello, I'm a current 10th grader at Camas High School, in Washington. I've been a Science Olympiad member since 7th grade, and I'm an alumnus of Skyridge Middle School. I have done reasonably well in Science Olympiad, but I hope to do better and place first in an official Science Olympiad event at Nationals.
I'm generally interested in Biology events, but I have done a couple other events such as Wheeled Vehicle and Game On. The event that I've done the best in is Disease Detectives receiving 15 medals in the event in my Science Olympiad career. However, the most interesting event for me is Anatomy. This is because the human body fascinates me in ways I cannot even imagine. The complexities of a single motor neuron or the release of calcium ions to begin a muscle contraction is very intricate for such a simple function continues to interest me year after year. I'm also currently doing GameOn which is an event that requires you to use Scratch to create your own game that matches with a given Science Olympiad theme. I like this event as well, because it gives me an opportunity to show my creativity in ways that I can't in Disease Detectives and Anatomy.
