Treasure Valley Mathematics and Science Center, or TVMSC, is a magnet school in Boise, Idaho, with mainly junior high and high school students, but many elementary school students can test in as well. TVMSC began competing in the Idaho Science Olympiad in 2010, and its Division B team, coached by Dr. David Whitacre, won the state competition in both 2011 and 2012. The Division C team has closely followed Bishop Kelly High School in the state competition, but came in second place in both 2011 and 2012. On TVMSC's Division B team's first trip to the National Science Olympiad in 2011, the team placed 39th, the best Idaho finish since 2002. In 2012, they placed 36th, the best Idaho finish since 1999. The team has earned two National medals: 5th place in Ecology in 2011, and 2nd place in Microbe Mission in 2012.
