History
Teeland Middle has won the Alaska State title 13 years and counting. They first attended nationals in only their second year, 2003, when they defeated Gruening Middle School, which had won the state championship in 2001 and 2002, and qualified for every one between 2003 and 2016. In 7 out of the 13 tournaments, they placed in the 40th-50th place range, with the highest coming in 2004, when they placed 42nd.
In 2012, they defeated second place Wendler Middle School by 31 points.
