Can we separate the Malcolm X and CPS regs section into two separate categories? The list of schools from both areas are jumbled up together, and I don't think that Malcolm X still does a regional tournament, but CPS still does, so I don't see the point of keeping them grouped together. I feel like it makes it all much more confusing. Booknerd 12:30, 23 May 2020 (CST)
- Wait a sec... All those teams in the Malcolm X CPS section are CPS schools, but half of them don't compete anymore... Just curious, why is it called Malcolm X? Was the regional tournament held there in the past? If so, shouldn't it be changed to IIT?
- Can we add something to the page to mark teams that no longer compete in science olympiad? Even just an asterisk would be enough. I think that the list of teams is kind of misleading and confusing because there is no information on whether or not a school has retired from scioly. There is a surprisingly large number of schools that no longer compete and are listed here, and I feel like that should be noted somewhere that they no longer compete. But I don't want to update the page without some input on other people. Does marking active/inactive teams seem like a good idea? Booknerd 12:45, 23 May 2020 (CST)
- It looks like the Malcolm X College Regional was last held in 2013-14 (compare 2013-14 and 2014-15). According to this school's newsletter, the tournament indeed seems to have taken place at Malcolm X College, even though CPS employees served as tournament directors. Because the information is outdated, it'd be awesome if you could help to update it! Other state wikipages already include information about past teams, so it sounds good to me. gz839918 (talk) 18:00, 23 May 2020 (UTC)
