Talk:Cell Biology
Page Organization
As mentioned in the recent edit description, I'm not sure how to best organize this page, as there are a lot of different content areas. The broad areas seem to be cell structure, cellular processes, and maybe other biological processes, but I don't know if everything fits into these neatly. However, we also want to avoid having too many topics at the same level. In addition, there seems to be a division between regional/state and national topics; I don't know if it's better to separate each section into the different competition levels, or to have an independent section for National Topics. And finally, in the end, if someone is well-versed in this event, or even just bio in general, and can confirm that the current organization is okay, then that works for me too; just putting out my ideas in an accessible place. -EastStroudsburg13 (talk) 04:47, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
I'd be willing to take a look at the organizational side of things from a bio-minor standpoint. 49ers (talk) 19:04, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
That works. We just need to make sure that the page has a structure that makes sense and is easy to follow, so similar topics should be grouped together and we should avoid having too many standalone topics. I just don't know the best way to do this (especially with not knowing exactly which topics may be missing from the page). EastStroudsburg13 (talk) 04:01, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
Do you know if anyone has the rules sheet or a link to the rules? That would certainly help a lot. 49ers (talk) 16:44, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
I have the rules from 2015, but I don't know if the rules changed significantly for 2016. EastStroudsburg13 (talk) 18:44, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Some rules are better than none. At least for a basis. 49ers (talk) 16:29, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
Clean-up
Just cleaning it up a little. Any input on where it would be more appropriate to place the following, or how it should be phrased, would be appreciated.
"Know things like the Krebs Cycle and protein synthesis like the back of your hand. Come up with . For example, CKSMO (see-kay-smo) can be used to remember the key enzymes in the Krebs Cycle (Citric Acid, Ketoglutaric Acid, Succinic Acid, Malic Acid, and Oxalocetic Acid)." 49ers (talk) 19:04, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
The solution you came up with works fine. The examples of different things to know and/or examples of mnemonic devices can be included as sub-bullets but would not be necessary. EastStroudsburg13 (talk) 04:01, 2 August 2017 (UTC)
