R.C. Murphy Junior High School is located in Stony Brook, New York. The school competes in the Eastern Long Island Regional Tournament, alongside their sister school Paul J. Gelinas Junior High School. The school is part of the Three Village Central School District. The school feeds into Ward Melville High School. The school qualifies for the New York State Tournament almost yearly. In the 2020-21 season, the team made the national tournament for the first time, placing 2nd at the state tournament and earning 3 national medals. In the 2017-18 season, the team scored 2 points away from the nationals bid.
