Team History

It participated in the Muscatel Invitational, Orange County Regional, and Southern California State Tournament. The Science Olympiad team stopped competing after the 2015-2016 session. After a three years pause, in the 2018-2019 session, the team re-entered the competition, and participated in the Kraemer Invitational and Orange County Regional. In the 2019-2020 season, the team participated in the Jeffrey Trail Invitational (used to be Kraemer Invitational) and the Mesa Robles Invitational. The team competed in the BEARSO Invitational, STEMBoost Invitational and Sierra Vista Invitational (formerly Jeffrey Trail Invitational) in 2020-2021. In the 2021-2022 season, the team competed in the Dodgen-Walton Invitational, Troy Invitational, National Invitational, and Sierra Vista invitational.
Program Overview
Rancho's Science Olympiad is run as an elective. The team, which consists of 7th and 8th graders, is selected through a series of tests based on the different Science Olympiad events and event categories. It practices both during and after school with past alumni, teachers, and partners in preparation for competitions. This team is relatively new and slowly improving in its results.
In the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons, team meetings and coaching sessions were held virtually due to COVID restrictions. The overall team was selected through tryouts, with the A and B teams decided by invitational results.
