About

North Shore Country Day School (NSCDS) is a private school in Winnetka, Illinois. It has a middle school of about 130 students. It has had a Division B Science Olympiad program for 21 years, and they have qualified for the IL State Finals every year. They do not have tryouts due to the size of the school, and they do not cut. They attend the Neuqua Valley Regional, and they have most recently won fifth place and 19th at IL State (winning 4th in AA for Battery Buggy and Boomilever and 2nd for Density Lab). Their best achievement is fourth place at state. Their build events (especially structures and wheeled vehicle) are notably strong and frequently medal at state. However, their lack of consistency always returns to plague them. Their head coach is their 'rock,' and many high schoolers return to coach. Parents also act as coaches. They have rivalries with Marie Murphy, Daniel Wright, South, Grayslake, Thomas, Frederick, Attea, Bednarcick, Springman, Hawthorn North, Woodlawn, Quest, and Fox Valley.
