J.F. Drake Middle School is a Division B school which qualified for the 2012 National competition at the Alabama 2012 state competition. It was the first time they qualified since 2006 and the first time they won states since 2001. They are located in Auburn and consist of students in sixth and seventh grades. Despite feeding into Auburn Junior High School, they have proved worthy competitors for their rivals and occasionally beat them, as in 2012.
