Clarksville Middle School hosted the first Division A Invitational in Maryland in years on May 14, 2022. A total of 12 teams from Howard and Baltimore County signed up for the invitational. Events hosted at the CMS Div A Invitational include Aerodynamics, Barge Buillding, Categories, Deep Blue Sea, How Do You Spell Science, Food for Thought and Energy, Leaf and Tree Finder, Metric Mastery, No Bones About It, Picture This, Solid Liquid Gas, Starry Starry Night, Weather or Not, Write It Do It and trial events Color Wheel and Sink or Float. Awards were awarded to the top 4 teams in each category and overall team ranks. In future seasons, CMS hopes to expand the Clarksville Middle School Division A Invitational to more schools in the tri-state region and PA to encourage and expose students to SciOly at the elementary school level as well.
