Past Event Rotations
This page is a list of event rotations since 2006. Note that this page is not intended to be an accurate predictor for future seasons, or an indication of the official event rotations; rather, it is just a list. Both divisions have had 23 events each year. In Division B, this has included 5 Life, Personal & Social Science, 5 Earth & Space Science, 3 Physics, 2 Chemistry, 4 Technology & Engineering Design, and 4 Inquiry & Nature of Science events. In Division C, this has included 5 Life, Personal & Social Science, 4 Earth & Space Science, 3 Physics, 3 Chemistry, 4 Technology & Engineering Design, and 4 Inquiry & Nature of Science events. Most events have analogs in the other division; the exceptions are Chemistry Lab in Division C and Meteorology in Division B.
Most events rotate every 2 years. In 2021, all the events in both divisions were repeated from the previous season due to the 2019-20 Coronavirus outbreak, so some rotations were extended to 3 years. Some current events are suspected to have become permanent, as they have outstayed their expected rotations (namely Codebusters).
Biology
These events are developed by the Life, Personal, & Social Science National Rules Committee, often abbreviated to "Biology".
Earth Science
These events are developed by the Earth & Space Science National Rules Committee, often abbreviated to "Earth Science".
Physics
These events are developed by the Physical Science National Rules Committee, often abbreviated to "Physics".
Chemistry
These events are developed by the Chemistry National Rules Committee.
Engineering
These events are developed by the Technology & Engineering National Rules Committee, often abbreviated to "Engineering" or "Tech".
Inquiry
These events are developed by the Inquiry & Nature of Science National Rules Committee, often abbreviated to "Inquiry".
