Re: Task
This can be answered by reading the rules; I believe the start task is for a competitor to drop a softball into the device, and the end task is for the device to ring a bell that is audible to the ES, but I'm not completely sure.
Re: Task
Per Rule 4.a, the Start Task is to drop a Racquetball into the device, then up to 18 Transfer Tasks (4.b) , then Final Task (4.f) is strike or ring a bell.Unome wrote:This can be answered by reading the rules; I believe the start task is for a competitor to drop a softball into the device, and the end task is for the device to ring a bell that is audible to the ES, but I'm not completely sure.

Re: Task
Only up to the Target Time. Past the Target Time, there is a penalty of 1 point per second over.brayden box wrote:And the time limit is about 3 minutes, I think. The longer the better.

Re: Task
Rule 4.h reads " The Target Operation Time for max points is 60 seconds at Regionals, between 61 and 90 seconds at States, and 91 and 120 seconds at Nationals (time announced at impound)"
Timing starts when the racquetball is dropped, and stops when the bell rings, (or 180 seconds whichever comes first)

Re: Task
Past 3 minutes, the event supervisor will stop scoring your device. But past the Target Time and before 3 minutes finishing, you can still score points but will be penalized 1 point per full second.brayden box wrote:So you have to get it to stop at exactly 3 minutes or before.

Re: Task
The ES sets a target time during the competition. You get points based on how close to the target time your device ran for. Part of that scoring involves subtracting points for every second you go past the target time. When the time your device has run for reaches three minutes, points stop getting subtracted and scoring ends.brayden box wrote:So you have to get it to stop at exactly 3 minutes or before.
