UGA Invitational results are now posted on Duosmium and the wiki.

Track A:
1. Walton A (86)
2. Fulton Science Academy B (189)
3. Chattahoochee B (200)
4. Walton B (234)
5. Chattahoochee A (255)
6. Brookwood A (261)
7. GSMST A (265)
8. Brookwood B (278)
9. Fulton Science Academy A (302)
10. River City Science Academy A (303)

As expected, strong scores all-around by last year's top 4. Walton seems to be stacked, and superscoring shows FSA and Chattahoochee in the middle with Walton ahead and Brookwood behind, but of course it's still very early in the season, so anything can happen. The most significant event besides those four is a stronger than typical performance from Forsyth Central, I could see them potentially climbing into the top 10 at state this year.

Track B:
1. Northgate (71)
2. Southeast Bulloch (82)
3. Northgate B (100)

All regional dates have now been added. Looks like regional signups open Wednesday evening, so we'll soon see how these tournaments stack up.

Chattahoochee Invitational Results
1. Fulton Science Academy (50)
2. Piney Grove M.S. (134)
3. Taylor Road M.S. (150)
Nothing unexpected here, dominant performance from FSA with some of the stronger schools in Georgia rounding out the next spots.

Dodgen-Walton Invitational Results
AA:
1. Fulton Science Academy (101)
2. Jay M. Robinson M.S. (161)
3. Piedmont IB M.S. (183)
4. Orlando Science M.S. (186)
5. Fred J. Carnage M.S. (187)
6. Dodgen M.S. (204)
Similarly dominant showing from FSA, with the rest of the teams nearby having fallen behind them in recent years. Of note is that Kennedy sent two split teams but no-showed many events and generally does not appear to have sent their strongest competitors.
A:
1. Knoxville Area Homeschoolers (116)
2. Vickery Creek M.S. (125)
3. Northwestern M.S. (138)

Results available on Duosmium and the Wiki, as usual

Northview's Battle of the Bees invitational results, via Duosmium:
1. Liberty M.S. (127)
2. Piney Grove M.S. - Gold (131)
3. Dodgen M.S. - A (145)
4. Piney Grove M.S. - Green (166)
5. River Trail M.S. - 1 (185)
6. Bearden M.S. - Red (194)

It's been a while since the top 2 in GA B have faced any serious threat, and while I'd certainly say that Dodgen remains favored over Piney Grove, this is probably the best chance anyone has had since Vickery Creek in 2017. (Although 2018 was close pointswise, FSA still clinched 2nd over South Forsyth despite finishing dead last in two events, so it was less a serious going in threat and more uncommon day-of problems that allowed the latter to get so close.)

4. Walton H.S. - C (216)
5. Fulton Science Academy - 2 (293)

Re: Georgia 2025

Looks like regional selections are mostly complete, so I'll start the new year with a quick overview of the situation at the moment (though I'll largely skip Div C's Class A as it's likely to be much more unpredictable).
  • Bulloch County B essentially replaces last year's Brewton-Parker in terms of location (and likely exists for just that reason), though with zero of last year's qualifiers at the site it's hard to predict much.
  • Emory University B is the new Urban Schools Initiative regional, so nothing to say there as every team is new (though I recognize a few names from many years ago).
  • Georgia State University B has Dodgen plus a couple of the other top teams, though unfortunately we won't get to see them up against FSA or Piney Grove at regionals this year. 5 bids seems most likely to me here, and if that's the case it would probably mean that someone would need to knock off Campbell or McCleskey to qualify, as the top 3 (with River Trail and Taylor Road) seem like sure bets.
  • Muscogee County B looks like one of the easier places to qualify out of at the moment. Newton County STEAM Academy is the team to keep an eye on here, as they won a similar-difficulty regional last year in their first year with a narrow victory over Woodland. St. John the Evangelist was strong repeatedly until a 9th place finish last year, so they also seem like a plausible contender here. It also looks like J.C. Booth has reformed a team, though they were not particularly notable in their prior iteration following the 2015 disbanding. Likewise, Blackmon Road was at the bottom of the state tournament last year. The bids at this tournament could go a lot of different ways, it's one of the most open in the state.
  • For Northeast Georgia B, Piney Grove's victory seems assured, but there are several teams that could round out the remaining bids in various orders, between Oconee County, Malcom Bridge, Vickery Creek, and Stratford (the last of whom inadvisably unstacked at regionals last year and missed out on a state bid due to that).
  • At Oglethorpe University B, the key questions here are whether Kittredge's dramatic comeback last year will hold, considering that they have a turnover of 100% each year (all 6th graders), and whether they will be able to prevent FSA from sweeping the top 3 - while Henderson, Crabapple, and Autrey Mill were all at last year's state tournament, I doubt any of them could accomplish that feat.
  • Shorter University B seems like Webb Bridge, Hightower Trail, and Northwestern are the clear favorites here, as all were top 10 at State last year.
  • Augusta State University C has a rather narrow pool this year, with perennial State top 10 team Lakeside as the clear favorite.
  • Berry College C is one of the easier sites this year, with perennial State top 10 team Westminster followed by a few familiar names like River Ridge and North Gwinnett likely to nab some of the remaining bids. I suspect this regional will get 4 bids, which would leave a pretty wide open last spot.
  • Georgia Southern University C is a heavily Class A site, with last year's Class A champion Southeast Bulloch in attendance. Interestingly, one of the only Class AA schools present, Glynn Academy, has registered 4 teams this year (only 5 other C schools have done so), though last year they had 2 teams and a not particularly noteworthy performance at regionals.
  • GSU Perimeter College-Clarkston C is this year's clear strongest, with last year's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams at State all in attendance - they will most likely claim all of the top 6 spots, as the next strongest team GSMST, despite a 10th place finish at State, was far behind Brookwood and Chattahoochee's second teams at this regional last year. Due to the size of this regional there are likely at least 6 bids in Class AA, plus several in Class A, so it's not actually an especially difficult place to qualify out of despite the heavy competition at the top.
  • Middle Georgia State University C is sizable but the top of the field is all lower-ranked State teams from last year, with Northgate, East Coweta, and Rockdale, though Rockdale does seem rather stronger this year, so we'll see.
  • UNG-Dahlonega C is all Class AA this year, with Fulton Science Academy presumed to dominate, followed by Northview as the likely second strongest, and four other State regulars battling it out for the remaining likey 4 or 5 bids.
  • UNG-Gainesville C should be interesting - South Forsyth and Lambert are both perennial State top 10 teams, but Forsyth Central was not far behind and appears to have strengthened considerably so far this year, so I'd certainly say they have a shot at victory.
