Chemistry Clue C [Minnesota Trial]
Trial Event for Minnesota.
-The path of the Administrator is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
-Nothing\'s gonna get deleted. We\'re gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what\'s Fonzie like? Come on, what\'s Fonzie like?
-Cool?
-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

Re: Chemistry Clue C [Minnesota Trial]
You get 5 clues to guess a chemistry term, one at a time. The sooner you correctly guess, the more points you get. If you incorrectly guess, you get 0 points.

A little bit. But you don't give your partner clues, the person running the event gives out each clue, one at a time, to the entire group. One of the examples is:fmtiger124 wrote:So sort of like that gameshow password?Paradox21 wrote:You get 5 clues to guess a chemistry term, one at a time. Clue 1 This is a specific type of subatomic particle.
Clue 2 This particle is located in the nucleus and is also a product of beta decay.
Clue 3 Of the two major particles in the nucleus, this one has the slightly smaller mass.
Clue 4 Any change in the number of these particles causes a change in the identity of the element.
Clue 5 This is a positively charged particle in the nucleus.
(Answer: Proton)
So they start out stupidly vague and get more specific.

Yeah, I think I requested this. So - how would you go about studying for this? Memorize anything and everything about chemistry?

Probably a chemistry textbook.

Because it is a really lame event.quizbowl13 wrote:since they are getting rid of picture this, why not make this like a trial?
In practice, the majority of teams figured out the answers on the same hint. It penalizes the risk takers, and is too broad of a topic.
