Think Different the Sixth: Return of the Different
Think Different the Sixth: Return of the Different
Welcome to Think Different the Sixth. #5 was viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12115. It has links to the first four, if you're interested.
I'm thinking different for this round of Think Different. Here are the rules.
1. You have 10 questions that you try to get the correct answer to.
2. The goal is to get the most number of points. The way you earn points is for each correct answer you answer, you will earn based on the number of people who guessed that answer:
Only One (Singleton): 20 points
Two: 19 points
Three: 17 points
Four: 13 points
Five or More: 8 points
Incorrect Answer: 0 points
3. There are two bonuses you could use to replace an answer: SLOTS and SHEEP. SHEEP means you earn 6 points for the question. Use this if you have no idea. SLOTS means you earn points based on your next three results:
Three Singletons = 20 points
Two Singletons = 18 points
One Singleton = 12 points
Zero Singletons = 8 points
Any Answers Incorrect = 0 points
EDIT: If you use SLOTS on one of the last three questions, you will not get extra questions. So, if you play SLOTS on #8, then get singletons on #9 and #10, you'll still get just 18 points.
4. Each question will be given separately. The due date for each clue is 24 hours from the post. PM me your responses. I will post results and the next question once I review all answers.
5. Make sure not to cheat please. I know that's pretty obvious. But if I catch you, your answers will be disqualified immediately and you will be unable to participate ever again. Moreover, every other player will earn extra points from your loss.
6. Users can change their answers before the due date arrives, but after the due date, answers may not be changed.
7. If I don't post within three days of my last post, I am unable to continue running the game. The person in the lead will choose the next person to continue the game where I left off.
The theme for this round is:
Science Olympiad C Topics
I will have questions from Anatomy and Physiology, Astronomy, Chemistry Lab, Codebusters, Circuit Lab, Disease Detectives, Microbe Mission, and Thermodynamics (in that order). In addition, I will include a question on general policies and SciOly builds.
The first question for this round of Think Different is:
Name an organ in the digestive tract.

Don't you usually post all the questions at once and give a deadline that everyone has to PM you their answers by?Jacobi wrote:Welcome to Think Different the Sixth. #5 was viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12115. It has links to the first four, if you're interested.

If this is an epic fail, well, just wait 'til #7. I made it like this so that people could (in theory) join in late and not have to worry about giving them points for missed questions. Just give them a 0. It's easier.
