Nationals 2018
Nationals 2018
Any ideas on how far/how fast the buggy needs to get to medal/place/to get top 10?
I personally think:
1: 1cm
2: very close, 1.5 maybe
3: around 2
4: around 3
5: around 4
6: medalling, has to be less then 5.
Top 10: Maximum 8
Top 20: 20 cm.

Re: Nationals 2018
1st place: 0 to .5 cm
2nd place- 1cm
3rd: 1.5 to 2 cm
4,5,6 all under 3 cm
top 10:under 4 cm
top 15: under 4-5 cm
I think thats pretty reasonable. Might be even closer than that...

Remember, these are the best teams in the nation. You might be surprised to see how accurate some teams can be.

Re: Nationals 2018
Having a good vehicle is simply improving your chance at placing. The best team with the best vehicle can't possibly get 1 cm away 100% of the time. Flooring, bad centerline taping, or simply a small piece of dust could make the best vehicle skid a few extra centimeters.

Re: Nationals 2018
I would modify this a bit based on my experience:Matholy wrote:Any ideas on how far/how fast the buggy needs to get to medal/place/to get top 10?

Top 10: <8cm
This is all super arbitrary because you dont have times here. Im willing to bet that there will be 1-2 teams with insane times (<3-4 seconds) and have slightly more volatile accuracy that will be slightly more luck-based.
On the subject of "speckles of dust", bring a swiffer if youre really worried and clean the track. I did this both years for electric vehilce, but honestly nearly all top 20 teams did this in division C so I really didnt end up pickung much dirt off the track

Yeah I'd say distances are going to be close to that once nats rolls around.shrewdPanther46 wrote:1st place: 0 to .5 cm
