Also, maybe you could put a list of all of the posts you "liked" on your profile. And maybe there is a way to reply to just a person's post and then have an arrow symbol (Like this ^) that you can click on to view the whole conversation. Because sometimes people's conversations take up pages and if you are not interested in the topic, you have to filter through it.
You kinda just described Twitter... XD

Nope, that's a very precise description of Reddit. Good idea nonetheless. Karma would of course only be allowed on the student forums.

On a different forum that I am apart of, there are these things called spotlights. Basically what they are are quotes (inside jokes, helpful things, insights, or really anything worthwhile to read) that have accumulated over the history of the site. Users are allowed to spotlight parts of posts. They are then approved by moderators. Once approved they are put on the list. Everytime your refresh or go to a different page, a new one shows up in a little bar on the top of the screen. Reading through these has given me respect for various members and has taught me a lot about many topics that I never would have learned about otherwise.
Maybe something like this could be incorporated?

Would it be possible to add a flashcard section to the wiki, or a section just for words and definitions? That would be very convenient if you were just looking for one definition or word.
I bet you had to read this twice

A vocabulary section would be a nice addition to most wiki pages, but someone has to actually make them. If you want to, go right ahead.

On the other hand, if you're looking for just one definition, allow me to suggest... Google? Or a dictionary?

With regards to the suggestion before that- Personally, I think it's an interesting idea (I don't necessarily speak for the rest of the staff), but implementation difficulties could get in the way. It's probably going to end up on the long list of "Things we'd like to implement whenever we have free time, except we never have enough free time."

Several wiki pages do have vocabulary sections. In my opinion, it works best as a section of pages. If the section gets large enough that it becomes unwieldy, then we'd move it to its own page, a la [wiki]Dynamic Planet/Glacier Vocabulary[/wiki]. However, it has to be pretty long in order to warrant its own page. Most cases, a section will be enough.
