26 Helicopter - Competition Intelligence

Hey Coaches-

Can we have a thread to share the current competition intelligence gathered so far for the 26 Helicopter Competitions?

It will help us better gauge us where we are in order to medal in the invitational or even regionals or state?

Based on last years performance, we know the national championship would be definitely over 4 minutes.

However, this is not applicable to 99% of the Scioly competitors whose primary goal is just to medal in the invitationals or regionals.

Just a first penny from our observation:
From the raw score of a virtual competition, we found 1st place of Div C is around 3:00
1 st place of Div B is around 2:55

a 2:35-2:40 flight time will definitely medal in that competition in both divisions.

It would be good to include ceiling height with flight time reports. With average descent rate of 1-1.5 sec/foot, 3:00 in a 25 ft ceiling is very different from 3:00 in an 8 ft ceiling

Nationals was a 25ft ceiling very narrow room last year.

The virtual one we had just mentioned “school or home conditions with ceiling height no more than 12-14 ft”.

Believ they confirm by video height estimates.
