Re: COVID-19
Legally I can, I'm just discouraged from being in public places unless I have to (like everyone else). I don't go outside anyway...Things2do wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 7:33 pmYou're not allowed outside?! Re: COVID-19
I don't quite understand... Us New Yorkers in the hardest hit state (per capita or by raw totals) are only out until May 15th* at this point. And it's a known fact that if you open to soon, there is potential for a second wave of infections.
-It seems as if Governor Cuomo will extend this at some point...

Re: COVID-19
snowyowl, I would bet that he's going to extend it. I think his hope is that the rest of the states overestimate the virus (which they didn't) or the virus by some miracle left New York.

Re: COVID-19
Gradual extension is also smarter in that you spread out the backlash.

Re: COVID-19
Governor Cuomo has been doing the extensions in smaller increments, which is interesting. Like, I think the first one was until April 1st (iirc), then April 20th, and now May 15th. It was pretty clear that the first two would get a further extension, but I wonder if he is gonna keep with the 15 days at a time strategy or start doing larger calls like other states have. Maybe it's to keep morale high? To make people feel like the "end is in sight?" I don't really know lolBennyTheJett wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 10:39 am snowyowl, I would bet that he's going to extend it. Re: COVID-19
Maybe he's trying to find a middle ground between the people yelling about too-drastic decisions and the people yelling at no action being taken? I feel like this gives people of both viewpoints less reason to complain.Giantpants wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 12:04 amGovernor Cuomo has been doing the extensions in smaller increments, which is interesting. EDIT: then again, having a range of time to plan for is helpful as well.
