Looks like the regional dates have been posted on the Regional Map.
Wow, it's already the end of September? It feels like just yesterday it was July and I was counting the days until the regional competition I attend. March will come fast.

Another big change for MI this year. Instead of one state sponsored coaches clinic in Lansing in Dec, they are hosting three clinics in Oct and Nov. One in SE MI, one in SW Mi, and one in the UP. Check the website, www.mi-so.org look under Workshops.

Michigan Entomology participants! There will be Entomology workshops held prior to the State tournament on March 7 and April 11 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will be able to view specimens and do some identification practice activities. More info here: http://scienceolympiad.msu.edu/upload/2 ... ympiad.pdf

To those who have already had regionals (or even invitationals for that matter), how did they go? Any results (which are surprisingly hard to come across, or at least from my searches)?

Congratulations to all teams who competed at the Region 12 tournament today, and good luck to those advancing to states (especially Lakeshore, White Pines, and GHHS):

A couple of these I'm going off memory for, and the scores are still tentative, so I can't guarantee complete accuracy.
Division B:
12 (alternate for states): Forest Hills Central
11: Dutton Christian
10: Grandville (290)
9: Macatawa Bay (288)
8: White Pines (215)
7: Plymouth Christian (194)
6: Harbor Lights (193)
5: Allendale (192)
4: East Grand Rapids (182)
3: Chandler Woods (161)
2: Jenison (159)
1: Lakeshore (109)

Bottle Rockets was cancelled and not factored into score.

Division C:
7 (Alternate for states): Allendale
6: Grandville
5: Plymouth Christian
4: Forest Hills Central
3: West Ottawa
2: Grand Rapids Christian
1: Grand Haven

Sooo, now that I spend the scioly season in MI (yay college), I've been volunteering at several Regionals in the area, and even writing a test or two. It's been quite a bit of fun, and I definitely look forward to doing it again next year.

Also, syo_astro and myself will be volunteering at States on Saturday. Feel free to say hi if you see us -- neither of us are particularly distinctive, but we may be wearing UMich astro/physics stuff.

Does anyone have a copy of the standings from the State Tournament? Curious to see how everyone did.
