The clumping at the end of the branch is very distinctive of that group (Loblolly, Pitch, Shortleaf, Longleaf)

Insects are slightly off (you didn't need to be that specific- I found that wood, seed, and phloem borers, as well as the redbud leaffolder, were parasites of this tree), but everything else is fine- your turn to post!

Yeah. Lithocarpus densiflorus it is. I had that on my forestry test just recently.
