The question will almost always (ideally, should) tell you what to express prevalence and incidence in terms of, whether it is as a percentage, per 100,000, or per 1,000. (i.e. They can be expressed in any of these ways, just make sure you answer the question posed.)

Science Olympiad's own website (soinc.org) has a bunch of great resources under the disease detectives page. there are documents and info on case designs and practice tests.

Like, if a restaurant at an airport was only open on alternating days, or something? So it would always come from the same place, but at alternating times.

I have a practise test in front of me, but no answer key. So what is considered to be the "most rigorous study design"? Isn't it experimental?

Yes, I would think that its experimental.

according to nichd.nih.gov, "randomized control trial" would be the most rigorous. So yes, I think that is similar to experimental.

Is cross-sectional the cheap/fastest one, or is that case control? I've seen it from both sources both fairly reputable), just wanted another opinion.
