Man, it feels really weird to not be competing in this event after doing it for 5 years. Best of luck to all of you who actually are!

The focus is still Environmental Quality I think, so it should cover pretty similar topics and questions.

I haven't seen the official rules yet, but the calculations can't be that difficult, can they? Nothing you can't find and learn easily on the 'net, I'd guess.

Maybe 25% of the teams can really handle the math we already had, in my experience. Now we have a bunch more math, so this year should be interesting.

Just as a PSA, there's now a really good set of statistics learning guides on the soinc website for disease detectives in case anyone is struggling with the new math.
