-Nothing\'s gonna get deleted. We\'re gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what\'s Fonzie like? Come on, what\'s Fonzie like?
-Cool?
-Correctamundo. And that\'s what we\'re gonna be. We\'re gonna be cool. Now, I\'m gonna count to three, and when I count three, you let go of your mouse, and back away from the keyboard. But when you do it, you do it cool. Ready? One... two... three.

All the point values are doubled this year, this could be a good or bad thing.
I bet you had to read this twice

Re: Experimental Design B/C
It's probably so they can be a little more precise with their scoring, so they don't have to, say, take off a whole point from a 2 pointer when there was really just a minor error.
"If, in other sciences, we are to arrive at certainty without doubt, and truth without error, it behooves us to place the foundations of knowledge in mathematics."

Yeah; I think this is better.
But other than that... I've just moved from Div. B to C - what should I know that's really important in the shift?

Re: Experimental Design B/C
It's essentially the same event in both divisions, which is nice. In most events they add stuff to Division C to make it tougher- that doesn't really happen in Experimental Design. There's going to be some more statistics for you to learn how to do... and that's about it. What makes Experimental more difficult in Division C is that everyone should have a little bit more experience and everyone should know what they're doing, so the competition is a little bit tougher.

Ah, I see. Well, that's good. I think. I'll train with my partners so we can do well!

Re: Experimental Design B/C
Does anyone know if there is any way to see the winning experimental from last year for C div? I'm wondering when they stopped (if they did) including the winning team's experiment in the Tests CD/book that they publish after nationals. As far as I can tell 2008 was the last year they included this, but if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know!

Re: Experimental Design B/C
Also what do people make of the fact that any kind calculator can be used (c div)?

Ha, I'm not sure what to make of that yet. Statistics are going to be helluva lot easier, and so are a lot of other things. Once we start practicing, we'll see how it all adds up.earthbot25 wrote:Also what do people make of the fact that any kind calculator can be used (c div)?

This is the best news that I have ever heard! Makes life so much easier... I'm sure many will still require work to be shown though.earthbot25 wrote:Also what do people make of the fact that any kind calculator can be used (c div)?
