Hey everyone, I recently was at the National Science Olympiad in Wisconsin, and heard an announcement that there were ambassadors from Japan that came to watch the competition, because they were interested in starting a Science Olympiad in Japan. I did see them around the area taking pictures...

Does anyone know anything about this?

I find that...odd.

The official thing I heard at the opening ceremony was that next year Japan will be sending a team or two.

It would be awesome if they made an international tournament in few years. Would make the whole thing feel a bit like the olympics. But no, I don't know much.

Well, there's an International Science Olympiad that's not affiliated with the US Science Olympiad I think...

So someone might actually beat Ohio in a few years?

That's a nice thought. Maybe the could come into the MO states?

I've heard about the International Olympiad, but I too don't think it's associated, I think the most likely thing is that Japan will send a team next year, which would undoubtedly lead to China sending a team, and an escalate till they either create a international division or this becomes a international competition.

No, someone WILL beat them.

Maybe Japan will do well in Dynamic Planet. Oh, and if Nuclear Science Lab becomes an event.
