Historically, forums activity in state threads has been dependent on just whether there happen to be active posters from that state. Controversies of that sort are fairly rare, once every few years or so.

I just read through the thread about WM's disqualification. The more I hear about these sorts of things, the more I lose faith in SciOly. Kept reading all the way to page 27 or so and hoping for things to go differently.
