Scioly.org Superlatives 2023

Howdy folks, it's that time of year again: Scioly.org Superlatives are upon us! sorry it took so long...

For those who are new to Scioly.org Superlatives, they're a little bit like the Oscars but for Scioly.org users. The categories are listed below. There's a 2-week nomination period where you can nominate anyone (yes, anyone!) that uses the site for a category whether they frequent the Discord or lurk on the Wiki. To nominate users, submit their usernames to the Google Form linked below. Once all the nominations have been collected, another form will be released that allows users to vote on which nominee truly embodies the title of Future Dictator or Best Shoulder to Cry On.

Nominations: form closes Wednesday, July 19th, 11:59 PM PT
Voting: form closes Thursday, August 3rd, 11:59 PM PT

FAQS:

Q: How many users can I nominate?
A: You can resubmit the form as many times as you want, though try not to put more than three names per category per submission.

Q: Can I nominate myself?
A: Sure! You can nominate anyone who uses Scioly.org.

Q: Do I have to have a Scioly.org account to be nominated? What if I don't know someone's Scioly.org username?
A: If you want to nominate someone on the Scioly.org Discord but they don't have an account on the site or you don't know their username, that's okay! Just submit the user's Discord username and we'll figure out the rest. Though really, why don't you have a Scioly.org account yet?

Q: Do I have to nominate someone for every category?
A: Not at all! Feel free to just do the ones you have ideas for--you can always resubmit the form later.

Q: Can I nominate someone for multiple categories?
A: Of course!

I didn't nominate myself for anything (didn't see this before), and here are my reactions:

Biggest nerd - Makes sense for anyone on this site.
Future mad scientist - Interesting, possibly if you modify what "mad scientist" means a bit
Most sleepless - How'd anyone figure that one out?
Musical - If you've read the forums, I'd suppose

Ones that would also probably match: biggest procrastinator, grammar police, no social life, intellectual, socially awkward, wastes time on scioly.org

Just so you know, if I've never seen you on the forums or wiki, the chances of me picking you on anything basically goes down by 100%.

whoever nominated forestry tree list is completely on point!!

Honestly, I wish people would spend more time on the forums. I know I preach on and on about this but there's a lot of useful information lost in how fast Discord moves, and it's really a lot worse than the forums when you look at what their original purposes were.

Forums is unfortunately too "slow" for a lot of the community--I think that's why the discord took off but it's just, yeah, I miss the forums sometimes.

So I took a look back at this thread (My previous post was on a phone so it was kinda hard to look at what I was nominated for. But I remember there being a LOT) and here are my thoughts for what I was currently voted for (yes yes sorry for voting for myself for some of them but they were the ones that made sense, like SLEEPLESSNESS):

Biggest Nerd: o-O really? what makes me NERDY???? I would never.
Biggest Procrastinator: So I did admittedly vote myself for this. But it makes sense, seeing how I am currently procrastinating my work to make this post
Clumsiest/Most Accident Prone: I have nothing to say.
Future Dictator: Wow! I am proud!
Future Nobel Prize Winner: Erm. Says who?
Least Likely to Have a Social Life: I am both saddened and not surprised that I have this.
Least Likely to Sleep, Period.: I do not function well on anything longer than 7 hours of sleep. I am tired by 5PM.
Most Athletic: THANK YOU!
Most Helpful (Division B Users): THANK YOU AGAIN!
Most Musical: THANK YOU EVEN MORE!
Most Painfully Intellectual: I am not very good at Engelmann Spruce, aka English, so I did have to search this up. Minus 5 points sorry . (Still proud though!)
Best Username Overall: Just managed to squeeze this one in! Mainly came from forestry + latin so like.... yeah.
Wastes Most Time On Scioly.org: Erm. I waste much time on many things. But also Scioly.org!

Wow that was a lot of nominations. Jeez. Thanks to all and it would be lovely to be nominated as some! (insert winky face)
