Scioly Assassination 162: Holiday Hysteria
‘Twas the night after Christmas, and all through the shop,
A party was raging, and was it a bop!
But alas, as a young elf left to clear their head
They came across the cold body of Rudolph— dead!
This travesty caused amongst all such a fright
Could it possibly be them that would die the next night?
For a letter promised so, launching such a fit
All demanded to know— whodunit?
Written upon the note was what seemed to be a clue, maybe this could help you gain the skills necessary to find out who?

BWhat do they all have the same of?
AThe Lady died with him but was not born until long after, in 1954.
Correction: A + B + [space] + [Two letters, both uppercase]
If the Lady were real, she would not have died 362 years before she was born.

Re: Re: Scioly Assassination 162: Holiday Hysteria
1. The officers will be the next five people who privately message correct answers to the officer clue. These people must have a presence on both the Scioly.org forums and Discord server. Put in a bit of thought before submitting. If you have not been around for a while, it is less likely that you will be able to identify the Assassinator.
2. The Assassinator will post clues on the Scioly.org forums which plainly point to their next victim, and occasionally to themself. Clues may be linked to on the Discord game thread, but must not originate from there.
3. People will die. However, there are some exceptions. The Assassinator will not kill administrators or global moderators. In return, they ask that these staff not reveal their identity.
4. Once "killed" a user may not assist with any clues nor post about the identity of the assassinator.
5. The Assassinator will continue to post with their true account, and may provide hints there.
6. Officers may protect one person per clue.
7. When protecting someone from a kill clue you must use the following template: "I protect [place name here] because [give reason here]." If you don't use this template when protecting, the protection won't count. Post this message in the appropriate Scioly.org forums thread only; protects given on Discord will be disregarded.
8. Each clue will last 48 hours, after which the Assassinator will kill.
9. Each officer begins with one accusation. You will earn an accusation with each correct protection.
10. When accusing someone of being the Assassinator you must use the following template: "I accuse [place name here] because [give reason here]." If you don't use this template when accusing, the accusation won't count. Post this message in the forums thread only; accusations on Discord will be disregarded.
11. Once an officer has made three incorrect accusations, they may not accuse or protect anyone.
12. If the Assassinator does not reply in 7 days after all protects are made, each officer gets a free accusation. However, that accusation must be made next time the user posts and cannot be stored as an extra one to use later.
13. The Assassinator wins after 7 incorrect accusations have been made, but the number needed to win goes down by one with each kill. 6 incorrect accusations remain.
14. The Assassinator reserves the right to modify these rules as they deem necessary.
You can submit your answer to the officer clue through either Discord or the forums, it makes no difference.
Any protect or accusation reasoning must be stated in completeness; no saying "I accuse/protect [name] because of our conversation on Discord.”

Scioly Assassination 162: Holiday Hysteria
This revelation astounded and dumbfounded, so five users were rounded up, ready to do their absolute best to find the killer who created this test.
After searching the scene, they found a clue which alluded to what was to come next, but this text very much perplexed.
Ah, so I see you’ve found my clue,
Are you ready to solve my ruse?
This clue is quite simple,
Just ensure you don’t get into a pickle!
And now make sure you don’t run,
Or else you may just need another clue
Good luck and have fun,
- 162
This killing was to be performed later that night, (that time is tiny, like a url!)
You must make sure to act fast, before they cause another fright.
You must find out what is in store, who is next, oh the chaos galore.
Congrats to the following users who solved the officer clue:
- kg123456789 (#3863) - 1 accusation
- Piplup7575 (#7575) - 1 accusation
- Umaroth (#0308) - 1 accusation

There are still 2 spots open!

I protect rachel_12#9324 because she does trajectory and her discord username has no sleep in it which aligns with the 2 decrypted sentences from the clue(no sleep for the weary and the trajectory is all wrong).

OH-I had those sentences but had no idea what they meant. Did anyone figure out what the picture clue was? (The one with an "@" sign and a block)

Re: Scioly Assassination 162: Holiday Hysteria
While the elves were struggling to solve the previous clue left for them, Rachel was leaving her job as a Tower Controller at the Polar Airport. Just as she walked out, a wind gust blew snow into her eyes, blinding her. She stumbled around and tripped over a tripwire, which caused her to fall off the 400 foot air traffic control tower.
Just as this happened, Umaroth solved the clue and headed to check in on Rachel, kg123456789 saw her fall, and ran to try to catch her, even though her chances were slim. As she ran, she tripped.
But, all was not lost, as she tripped on the start button of a conveniently placed, instant moon bounce, which caught Rachel, protecting her from her doom.
Congrats!

Re: Scioly Assassination 162: Holiday Hysteria
A few days later, a letter was dropped into the tip box in the lobby of Santa’s factory. This message read:
A penguin took several trips tromping around in the snow on their day off, and had a great time!
- First, she started at P13 after saying hi to a friend, and headed south for 3 minutes, turned left and traveled for 3 minutes, turned right and walked for 3 minutes, before making a 180 degree turn and traveling for six minutes, where they then rested.
- They then called a Polar Express taxi, which they took to C11. There, they found the trailhead for an eleven minute hike, which had a ninety degree right hand turn after four minutes.
- After their hike, she took another taxi to P1, where they played a game of Battleship and shot at the points T1, R1, R7, T7, and P7, in that order. All of these points were missed, which, sadly, lost her the game.
- Later, after playing the game of battleship, she hitched a ride with her friend to C1. From there she decided to head south for 0.1 hours, turn left, and travel for 0.05 hours.
- From that point they saw a giant hill at H3, which they wanted to sled down. After reaching the top, she slid east for a tenth of an hour, then climbed back up half of the hill. She then turned south, and slid south for another 6 minutes, before hitting a sick u turn, traveling west, then north for another 6 minutes.
- After sliding down that hill, she decided to travel home, which was at I10, but she accidentally passed it by 8 minutes. She noticed her mistake, so they rectified it by traveling left for 4 minutes, and then taking two lefts before ending back at her house
After her tiring day, they logged onto their computer and headed to https://pastebin.com/k0Eybz5p to try to decipher the newest clue, before getting ready for their next day working at the airport.

Either way the usage of she/they is interesting, maybe pointing to the target's pronouns. Can't go work the grid out right now but this is an interesting trip we've got here
what kind of game of Battleship is this?? I'm sorry mx. penguin but you kinda suck at this /j
