Hello! This is my first year studying for Cell Bio (obviously, since it hasn't been around since 2016). Does anyone have any tips? There's no practice tests or anything I can find, which makes me a bit nervous. I'm currently taking AP Bio and did Heredity both years in Division B as well as Designer Genes last year in Division C. Is any of that knowledge relevant and which parts will I need to study? Any recommended textbooks to get or websites to visit? What are the test questions like? Thanks!

I also haven't ever done cell bio, but I recommend looking at the rules manual to figure out which topics you'll need to study. A lot of your knowledge from AP bio will probably be helpful. Doing designer genes will probably not be super helpful (although knowledge about viruses will be helpful, and also basic knowledge about replication/central dogma/etc). Campbell biology will most likely be a good textbook to study (mostly units 1 and 2). There are also other relevant textbooks like Alberts' Molecular Biology of the Cell, and Lehninger's Biochemistry. I also recommend looking at the wiki page (which also has resources listed at the bottom).

In terms of tests, there are a few old tests in the test exchange. In a few months, there will be more tests available from early invitationals (eg. UT Austin). You can also look at the old question marathons (which are linked on the wiki page) to get an idea of the content which will be tested.
