Haha I'm bored so here are my way-way-way too early predictions based on absolutely no information or data!
Div C:
1. Harriton - I wish we could've seen how well they would've done last year, but their SOUP results (compared to MiT) already suggested that they were improving quickly, as they have in previous years, and probably would have gotten top 10 at nats. We'll see how well they do at UT.
2. LM - We have a lot of good seniors. The only reason I'm putting us over Rustin and CV is that I don't know anything about how those teams are doing, while I know we will probably improve this year.
3. CV - they've had an upward trend for the past few years, while Rustin has stayed pretty much the same, which is why I'm putting them over Rustin for now.
4. Rustin - See above.
5. SSA shrug.
The top four is basically guaranteed - it's just a question of what order they'll be in.
Div B: (I haven't really been following div b as closely)
1. Springhouse - They're Springhouse. Could possibly see them getting 2nd to Harlan Rowe depending on how much HR improves.
2. Harlan Rowe - They've been improving for the past few years, similar to CV. I can't really imagine another team snatching the nats bid from them, unless SSA manages to improve.
3. SSA - I wish they had gone to competitions like Rustin and Garnet because I really have no idea about how good they were last year. I doubt they'll make nats over Harlan. They may have lost motivation due to their 4th place finish at states 2019.
4. Eagle View - They were very close to Bala Cynwyd last year. I guess I'm expecting them to improve a bit this year (based on no information at all!), but really places 4 through 6 could be in any order. I can possibly see Eagle View beating SSA if SSA gets worse or eagle improves a lot.
5. Mountain View/Bala Cynwyd tossup - Mountain View has been improving, while I feel that Bala will be about the same as last year - we only had about 5 8th graders last year (none of which are competing in div B this year) so we have quite a few current 8th graders with experience from being on the competition team last year, but then again our minor success last year was mainly due to 3 or 4 8th graders carrying the team (ahem, IHateClouds, ahem). We'll see.
Again, I don't follow division B as closely, so honestly I may have forgotten something
