Physics by Giancoli does not use any calculus or trig in their DC Circuits chapter. That being said, it could more advanced than you might like for 6th graders.

My physics textbook from last year (in AP Physics 1) is pretty good. Everything is explained very well and it contains a lot of practice problems and examples. No calc but contains some basic trig. It's College Physics by Serway and Vuille. Don't let the name fool you though, it's not that bad.

The website allaboutcircuits.com is pretty good for beginners, although it isn’t a textbook. That website was a great introduction and relatively easy information, with a few sections that could be a bit more difficult.

I highly recommend this one for people that don't have a solid grasp on physics already. It would be definitely be great for middle schoolers.

I have a few questions regarding the Circuit Lab test for C division. What types of capacitors will we need to know about? Is it just parallel plate capacitors or also cylindrical, spherical, etc.? What do we need to know regarding AC Circuits? Will we be asked to do calculations on AC Circuits regarding the voltage, current, or information pertaining to capacitors in the circuit, etc.? Do we need to know anything about inductors and inductance?

Not official, just my opinion:

All capacitors are fair to be tested
Know characteristics of AC, but you should not have to know AC circuit analysis. Essentially, I would expect to get tested on anything as long as it doesnt involve calculations with phasors. However, you may still need to know concepts with AC circuits, such as behavior with a capacitor.
