Re: Egg-O-Naut C
they might change the bottle size, 2L bottles are more fun, and you can do more with them

Its worth it. Just put a name and phone number on the parachute and hope somebody calls you saying that you found it. And it doesn't necessarily mean higher rockets, you can launch a 1 L almost as high as a 2 L if you build it right.

Yeah, I've found that smaller bottles can often go just as high as larger ones. They're more aerodynamic - long and narrow - and considerably lighter. Although with the weight of an egg being fixed, it may lessen that effect a bit.

Really? But you have essentially twice the air power, since volume is twice. I got used to the height of 1 liter rockets last year. Then, as I watched the Div B prep for Nationals, where 2L Bottle Rockets was a fun event, I was awed when I saw how high the same design on the 2L went, in comparison.

Most parachutes get stuck on the trees.rocketman1555 wrote:Its worth it. Just put a name and phone number on the parachute and hope somebody calls you saying that you found it. And it doesn't necessarily mean higher rockets, you can launch a 1 L almost as high as a 2 L if you build it right.

Okay, I've seen well built 1L do better than poorly built 2L, thats what I meant to say. So yes, most 2L do go higher, which makes them more fun.scienceolympiadist wrote:Really? And I've had enough parachutes go over trees to find it worthwhile to put a name and phone number on them.
And the way times were this year its almost better to make it so we have longer times, it would make the event a little more interesting.
