They cut forensics? And GeoMapping? And replaced wright stuff?

Does anyone know what the rules for "Wrong Stuff" are gonna be like?

This is a typical MA states honestly.

Cutting Geologic Mapping was expected, since they always cut that event (or equivalently Remote Sensing) for some unknown reason. Forensics honestly makes sense, since it's really hard to run and they had problems finding a supervisor last year.

I personally dislike how they forbid kits for Wright Stuff/"Wrong Stuff". I do understand that they want make it a more even playing field, but it makes things more annoying.

Are you under the impression that "Wrong Stuff" is just gonna be Wright Stuff without kits? If that's the case, why did they not rename Heli the last two years?

That's my current understanding, though we won't know for sure until the newsletter comes out (hopefully in the next few days). I think that the reason for this is that in previous years, some teams haven't followed the No Kits rule, and hence they want to emphasize it. This is obviously just speculation. Have you heard otherwise?

Remote Sensing because they thought it needed a computer lab and they only had one which they needed for all the coaches' favorite event, Game On. I love democracy

Regarding the State Tournament:
Massachusetts SciOly November Letter wrote:Due to scheduling issues, we do NOT have a snow date. Weather related changes to the State event will either result in a delay in start time, or cancellation of the event for this year.
Hopefully there's no snow.

For "Wrong stuff"...

What constitutes if something is built from a kit? If I change one thing in an airplane built from a kit, is it now a custom plane? ;)

I would personally consider it a spirit of the competition violation, though this is obviously unofficial.

It just seems very flawed. Some of the rules are kinda silly. I love how it has "Recommended Resources: Online". It does look very fun though... like electric wright stuff; both very interesting twists off the original event.
