General Knowledge: 1. How many sections are in one township/range? 2. What does UTM stand for? 3. Why are topo maps rectangular instead of squared?

1. uhhh 36? 2. Universal Transverse Mercator (or something like that) 3. Does it have something to do with how latitude and longitude isn't a rectangular grid system like UTM? (like 1 degree of latitude by 1 degree of longitude will differ depending on where you are?)

Re: Road Scholar B
Fair enough, for 3 I was expecting something like lat/long are only equal at the equator due to the spherical shape of the earth, but it's fine.Anomaly wrote:dxu46 wrote:General Knowledge: 1.
