2019 Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad Invitational

Post by HarvSciOly »

Harvard Undergraduate Science Olympiad (HUSO) is excited to announce our second Division C Invitational Tournament!!

When: Sunday, February 3, 2018
Where: Harvard Yard, Cambridge, MA
Registration: Opens on September 12th, 2018. Teams will be accepted on a rolling basis until we reach capacity.

1. Our schedule will mirror the 2019 Nationals Schedule
2. Event Writers/Supervisors will be Science Olympiad alumni here at Harvard, many of whom have attended Nationals. That being said, coaches do not need to worry about running events or bringing materials.
3. Each school may register up to 2 teams.
4. The registration fee is $150 and will be due 2 weeks after your registration is confirmed.

Register at sciolyharvard.org, and email sciolyharvard@gmail.com with any questions. We are looking forward to having you!!

Due to popular demand, we are currently exploring hosting a Division B Invitational Tournament on February 10th. Please subscribe to our email list (go to sciolyharvard.org and scroll to the footer) to receive email updates about that. We'll also send a more detailed announcement once those plans solidify.

Kudos for you for even attempting to host Div B as well- Many of the alumni invitationals I've seen neglect doing this, and it's all the more important as New England has no division B tournaments outside of states.

Is there sufficient proven demand for division B tournaments?

There wasn't proven demand for Div C until a few years ago. There are several pretty good teams in the area, so I expect Harvard can fill 30 spots without much trouble.

I just meant that if they set it to EST on that date then it will actually be open 1 hour earlier than people are anticipating since we are in EDT.
