Re: Battery Buggy B
I'm definitely going to do this next year. I liked scrambler. Battery Buggy will be a little nicer though because you don't have to worry about breaking the egg. That's one less variable to worry about.

Re: Battery Buggy B
And you don't have to build a launcher, my launcher last year had major problems. At least this is good now. Anyone on here old enough to tell us what the event was like? This seems like a cross between robo-cross and scrambler to me. Sounds good.

Re: Battery Buggy B
hey you guys... most of your questions in this area are probably going to be answered in the EV section C part of building events in this forum..
ask there...
the highschoolers are more experienced, they know the event better, and they can answer your questions!

Re: Battery Buggy B
1) battery buggy and EV aren't really similar, so their questions probably won't be answered in that thread, you can program EV, you can't program battery buggyMontyBuilder wrote:hey you guys... most of your questions in this area are probably going to be answered in the EV section C part of building events in this forum..

2) high schoolers are not necessarily more experienced, and many have probably not done this event before, and its not guaranteed that a high schooler can answer questions better than a middle schooler, especially when its a middle school event
3) don't make assumptions...everyone knows what that does

Re: Battery Buggy B
It seems that this event is indeed very similar to EV...essentially EV without the use of electronics.
A lot of EV's have been built this way, and there are a lot of similar concepts. It also seems similar to Scrambler in many ways.

Re: Battery Buggy B
i recommend a motor turning a threaded axle and wingnut braking system... however the wingnut eventually hits a break depending on its position on the rod
