Didn't take a look at the rules earlier, but looks like the only change was in how the sections were organized to make it more clear. Unfortunately this typo makes it less clear  Regarding the rules clarification this brings up an idea (one that the soinc folks are unlikely to follow up with); since the rules are now online, they could be updated with different versions to reflect rules clarifications. This is what FIRST robotics does, and I'm curious to think what chalker would say; it would solve some problems but also create others, I can already see.

This is a good idea and it was one of the first things we thought of. We decided against it since it will likely to be too confusing with people having multiple versions. Remember that there are still a fair number of people who are purchasing the physical rules manuals.

Too bad the updated rules kept cow and squirrel hair from last year :/ looks like I'll still have to deal with obtaining those if I get called upon to supervise this event this year :P

Wait...how did you pull off squirrel hair without buying it? I'm just curious, because squirrel hair is apparently used for fishing fly ties, so you can get it from sites that sell fishing supplies.

You could probably find a dead squirrel somewhere to get hairs :P

Or your local museum, if they do some taxidermy of local animals.

But that's gross...and also possibly a biohazard?
