Re: Duration
Hmm im having a lot of trouble attaching the probe perfectly vertical to the top of the rotor, and this is causing more havoc then it is helping when flying with a low ceiling. Any advice?

Re: Duration
I am only getting 575 winds on a fully lubed rubber band before it snaps. I am using about 1.6g of 1/8" FAI tan super sport, with armor-all as lube. Now this doesn't seem right when people are saying that they are getting 1000+ winds. Can anyone provide some insight?

Re: Duration
well, I think 1.6 g is a little less than what most of us are using (1.9, 2), and many of us use thinner 3/32 (though 1/8 is common too), which can get more winds.

Make sure you are stretching the rubber to at least 4 times its original length while winding.

Umm not 1000+, but more like around 800. I usually stop at around 750 because i don't want to push the rubber, but if i were at state id do 800 because i know a fresh rubber band that's well lubed CAN handle 800.harryk wrote:I am only getting 575 winds on a fully lubed rubber band before it snaps. WOOHOO! Today I used 2.04 grams (slightly over, but oh well) of 1/8 rubber on my slightly modified invites copter (I moved the fixed rotor all the way down to the other end of the motor stick and closer to the free rotor's axis), and it did fantastically, compared to the time I had with 3/32! I didn't use a timer, but I know it was up almost a minute on my two-story foyer ceiling, and it came down really slowly. Definitely works for this copter. I'll have to see with the next one, though, 'cause we changed the pitch a lot.

Re: Duration
That's strange... I tested 1.75 grams of 1/8 tan super sport, also with armor-all lube, and it hadn't yet broken by 1000. Hm... do you wash your rubber before? I dunno what else it could be... the package of rubber I just got was a little dusty, so I washed the piece I used with plain water before using it.harryk wrote:I am only getting 575 winds on a fully lubed rubber band before it snaps. What did your time impove from, and what did it improve to?chia wrote:WOOHOO!
