What are the factors that determine where an amphidromic point can/will occur?

1) Coriolis Effect - the relative deflection of the direction of the tides and currents will change the relative position of the amphidromic points 2) Interference with ocean basins, seas, bays, and landmasses - all of these realistic objects can change the amphidromic point as the tides interfere with them

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
1. What gives coral polyps their color? 2. What is the speed of sound in air and water? Which medium is it faster in, and why?

1. Zooxanthellae 2. 343 m/s in air; 1454 m/s in water I think; Faster in Water because it is denser than air

speed of sound in water is ~1482-1484 m/s

What is the elastic rebound theory?
The elastic rebound theory was introduced by Henry Reid, and says that the crust of the earth gradually gains stress, and when the amount of stress exceeds the strength of the rock, the energy is released, resulting in an earthquake.
