Name some instances where mycoremediation can be used. And give an example of a location where it was used.

1. Mycoremediation can be used when there are oil spills; to filter water; to extract heavy metals and radiation; and to regenerate healthy, biodiverse ecosystems.
2. Mycoremediation was used in San Francisco in 2007 when a cargo ship spilled 58,000 gallons of heavy fuel oil, contaminating the shoreline. The mushrooms broke down the oil in the soil.

What is desertification? Also, name some areas in which there is a high chance of desertification.

Desertification is the process by which fertile lands are transformed into desert lands as a result of drought, improper use of land, deforestation, etc. Areas prone to desertification include the Sahel, North eastern Brazil, and in general, the margins of most semi arid areas

Yup! Other desertification-prone regions are most of Australia and the areas around the Sonoran Desert, Atacama Desert, Kalahari Desert, and the large desert made by the Sahara, Arabian, Thar, Taklimakan, and Gobi deserts.
Your turn!

- Parent material can be transported by water through oceans, flood plains, delta deposits, etc.
- Parent material can be transported by wind.
(not the most detailed answers, I know.)

Yeah other answers include colluvial, ice, etc. I was actually looking for the types of parent material-residual and transported but I phrased my question incorrectly
