Re: Road Scholar B
It can be done though. Sometimes, I'll just work on a longer problem (like calculating longitude and latitude) while my partner continues on with the test.

Re: Road Scholar B
Oh yeah... That does work. My partner and I often will take different maps and one does highway and one does topographic.

The event supervisor is the same guy that supervised/wrote NY States. He'll let you split it, and makes the event/answer sheet so that you can split those at well.

Since people are actually posting on this... (which has never happened before)
How do you know which years to put when the question is like "x is in purple because it was built in between _____ and ______?") I never seem to get them right, and I always feel like the answer changes. Anyone know how to do 'em?

Re: Road Scholar B
Off the top of my head, I seem to recall purple has to do with changes to the map that haven't been verified, or map revisions, or something of that sort. I think there should be something on the topographic map that explains what it means.

I never had a question ask that between two dates, but on the map, there would be a place where it tells you when the map was photorevised.ILoveEgretsClub wrote:Since people are actually posting on this... (which has never happened before)

Re: Road Scholar B
On most maps, the date of the changes made in purple will show up on the map in purple text in the bottom margin (I believe on the left side.) It probably says "Photo-Revision or Photo-Revised in (Date)" Sometimes it is tricky on some maps when there are 40 different years and they all mean something else with non-descriptive descriptions.

Re: Road Scholar B
I know where they are, but all of the maps have something along the lines of
Topography taken by aerial photo in ______, revised _______.
Cultural changes in _________, etcetcetc. There are at least 4-5 years they mention, and then 2-3 more on the photo revision section.
