Re: Nationals Results
We have 2 7th graders, 2 9th graders, and the rest of us are 8th graders. There's no way we're going to have a middle school team next year.

Re: Nationals Results
My B coach (I'm in C now) likes to have even 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, as we rarely have 9th graders, if at all.croman74 wrote:My coach likes to have an even number of 7th, 8th, and 9th graders.

Re: Nationals Results
Heh. We don't have 6th graders on our SO team. Last year, there were ~ 15 9th graders, 2 8th graders, and 20 7th graders (of whom only about three stayed on this year).

Re: Nationals Results
Last year there were 7 8th graders, 3 7th graders, and 6 6th graders. Everyone gets an equal chance, and last year and 3 years ago (when I was in 6th grade ) the 6th graders had a major contribution to the team's success.
And aren't you only supposed to have 5 9th graders? Did you have more than one team for the rest?

Re: Nationals Results
With us we have 2 teams, so most the the 6th graders get on team 2. Most of the rest (except for some underquilfed 7th graders) go on team 1. Because only one team can be sent to the states (even though both teams usally quilify) 1 or 2 6th graders make the states team. And if we get lucky, the nats team.

Re: Nationals Results
Wow only 2 grade levels! Do you guys allow the 6th graders to participate? I think my team has the largest grade range on here. We have, like most of you already know, grades 5-9

Re: Nationals Results
We have 7-9th graders on my team. 5-9 is a lot of people. How many kids are in SO at your school? We have 25 kids.

Re: Nationals Results
Oh My God! 60?!!! Whoa that's a lot. The most I've ever seen the team at my school have is 45, and that was at the interest meeting. I think we're taking 23 people to regionals this year, but I'd have to confirm that.Pleiades wrote:60.
