a giraffe weevil (family Curculionidae, order Coleoptera). I'd recognize that anywhere, but they're only found in Madagascar, so I really don't think that would be on any sci o test.
correct. the rules dont say just US insects though right...?
Aren't all of the bio ID events only concerned with North American species?

Well, this event isn't necessarily based around species, so I would say that it doesn't really matter. The beetle in question was used as a good example of a certain characteristic indicative of a certain family. Whether or not it will be on a test is probably up to the digression of the test writer, because since it isn't explicitly stated, any world species is fair game. At least, that's my guess.

Ah ok. That opens up some possibilities for some interesting species. I guess it's my turn, so
I'd say that's right... not quite sure why no one's responded yet but I guess it's your turn!
EDIT: Whoops, I was looking at the wrong page and got mixed up, sorry.

As for the bug, I haven't studied enough so I have no idea. xD

Order: Hemiptera; Family: Reduviidae; Species: Uhh I'm pretty sure the genus is Glymmatophora because it's metallic but I've got no clue what the species is. :|

Order Coleoptera, family Silphidae? Species is, I think, Nicrophorus americanus.

burying beetle! Order is of of course Coleoptera and family is Silphidae. The genus is definitely Nicrophorus; I'm thinking the species is N. americanis.
